Product Description In the third edition of Howard Rosenthal’s best-selling test preparation guide for the National Counselor Examination (NCE), students get more help than ever with an expanded section on marriage and family counseling, new material on web counseling, and updated material throughout. This resource now includes over 1,050 tutorial questions/answers and a new Final Review and Last Minute Super Review Boot Camp section. This guide is an ideal review tool for state licensing, the NCC credential, and preparation for written and oral boards. And because the new Counselor Preparation Comprehensive Examination (CPCE), draws from the same subject areas, the Encyclopedia is a perfect study guide for the CPCE as well. Written in a unique question/answer format, with a quick reference index, this is also an essential student reference volume for use in any counseling, social work, or human services course.

Excellent December 24, 2008 Elba Chavez Encyclopedia of Counseling: Master reviewe and Tutorial for the National Counselor Examination, State Counseling Exams, and the Counselor Preparation Comprehensive Examination, Third Edition Excellent. The best!
If using this book for the NCE exam December 10, 2008 Kimberly Kaye If you are using the book Encyclopedia of Counseling along with the CD's to study for the NCE exam, I feel the information presented is NOT what your going to see on the exam. The information in the Encyclopedia of Counseling is beneficial and a great way to refreshen your memory. However, to use this book as your only source of study in comparison to the questions being asked on the NCE was not useful. I did pass the exam, but felt the questions asked on the exam were of no relation to this book.
Best NCE study guide out there. Hands down. December 2, 2008 Blythe A. Wyatt (Long Island, NY) I had already used his last year's edition to sit for the CPCE exam in NY state, so when we moved to Texas and I had to sit for the NCE exam I knew I'd only trust Rosenthal's study guide. It is so thorough and complete with the knowledge for the counseling exam there is nothing he misses. It is definitely the review that I needed to allow me to do so well on my NCE exam. Trust nothing else. Get this book, give yourself a month to go through it, highlight the answers and utilize the cram study guide section once you are done. It was amazing how much detail I remembered.
Encyclopedia of Counseling November 30, 2008 Parker (Charleston, IL) I think that it was a good book for gaining relevant information. This was the only thing I used but people who used other things with it like CD's scored higher. So this is cool but have more to study with.
Cheap and Easy November 10, 2008 N. Shaffer (St.Louis MO) This book is the most inexpensive and useful I've seen. There are little jokes to keep you entertained. I ordered another guide which was very expensive and had way too much info. I passed by about 15 extra pts and 2 hrs early.
