Product Description Stop pushing your message out and start pulling your customers in
Traditional "outbound" marketing methods like cold-calling, email blasts, advertising, and direct mail are increasingly less effective. People are getting better at blocking these interruptions out using Caller ID, spam protection, TiVo, etc. People are now increasingly turning to Google, social media, and blogs to find products and services. Inbound Marketing helps you take advantage of this change by showing you how to get found by customers online.
Inbound Marketing is a how-to guide to getting found via Google, the blogosphere, and social media sites.
• Improve your rankings in Google to get more traffic • Build and promote a blog for your business • Grow and nurture a community in Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc. • Measure what matters and do more of what works online
The rules of marketing have changed, and your business can benefit from this change. Inbound Marketing shows you how to get found by more prospects already looking for what you have to sell.

I choose this book for my class August 26, 2010 Nora McDougall (Missoula, MT United States) It's difficult to find textbooks on computer topics that are appropriate for an adult education course. Most of my students come to class after a full day of work - or rushed in the middle of their work day. Many of them are business owners who are wondering how they are going to fit yet another business task into their schedules. I chose Inbound Marketing for my Social Networking for Business class because it is 1) easy to read, and 2) just the right amount of information for my students.
Surprisingly simple but effective! August 14, 2010 Josh Charlesworth (Melbourne, Australia) Although I initially found this book simple and questioned my purchase, wanting something that really dived into social media strategies and techniques I found only after a few pages I was really interested and impressed with just how effective the author delivered social media and the benefits it can afford you. Surprisingly simple!
I was particularly impressed with the 'Inbound Action' case studies at the end of each chapter as I found this tied together the theory and concepts presented during the chapter. The case studies, being real world practical examples are really great additions.
I was somewhat disappointed with the lack of discussion surrounding how to measure social networking from a ROI/dollars point of view. The book certainly discusses other aspects which may determine success, but having some way of approaching the measurement side would have assisted greatly, especially when you have to justify why we should spend $ on social networking. Despite this the book met my expectations and provided a good overall picture of inbound marketing and how to approach it with 'To Do's' at the end of each chapter. I bought this book to learn more about Internet Marketing, in particular social media and this book did just that.
Simple, easy to read and understand and with the addition of the tools and tips at the end this book will no doubt continue to be useful for me in the years to come.
Excellent Introduction to Social Media Marketing August 13, 2010 Chip Averwater (Memphis, TN USA) Listened to the audio-book four times. Each time I picked up something new.
This is the best explanation of the social media phenomenon that I've found so far. In addition to anecdotes of how it's being used, there are detailed steps on how to put it to work for you. Very practical.
Very high level insights =- not tactical July 25, 2010 Brittany Vasseur (WASHINGTON, DC, US) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
While there were some interesting information i.e. "content is king, create a blog with content that is remarkable" where the book struggles is when it comes to how to execute and make these high level tips a success. Create a blog, and then what? How do I get people to read or find the blog? Overall, this book left me with more questions than answers...
This is THE best book on website strategies July 22, 2010 wjwallis (California USA) A fantastic book. I applied many of their suggestions immediately.
They suggest to make your blog your main page!
I did that with my wedding site and am planning to do it with my commercial site next
Highly recommended
