Hard to use in studying March 21, 2010 Victoria This book was in my opinion really hard to use for class. It has tons of text that is overwhelming and not broken up very clearly. Every time we had a list of terms to look over it was really hard to first of all find them in the book and then to grasp the true meaning of them because nothing was bolded. It had good information and nice case studies, I just wish it would have given more focus to the fact that as a textbook it is meant to be studied and it was studying was very difficult to do with this book.
Bought this for graduate class February 11, 2010 pilot27k (Kentucky) Bought this book for a graduate class. Only partially into the book but it appears to have very good information about international marketing.
Amazing Customer Service February 9, 2010 Jenn Garcia (Pasadena, CA USA) I had bought this book from another site and they sent me the wrong book. I was stressed because I need the book ASAP because I needed to complete an assignment and submit by the first day of class. I bought the book on a Tuesday or Wednesday and asked it to be shipped the fastest way possible. I had the book by that Friday. It was great. I was very happy with my purchase and they answered my e-mails and concerns in a timely matter. Would and will use them again.
More about International Business than Marketing November 5, 2009 PTHahn (Connecticut) This text is too focused on the complexities of doing business internationally. It dedicates too much time to culture and history and far too little on basic Marketing, extrapolated to the global scene. For example, the product and market planning sections are very superficial(one chapter)and do not explain to the student (preferably through case studies, which I use)how exactly Marketing is carried out in the global setting. Also, there are chapters on products for consumers and business, and middlemen in distribution which my advanced students found boring. I now use Kotabe, which has a stronger orienation toward the practice of global Marketing rather than business.
No shipment - no communication September 24, 2009 James G. Orr My daughter is a college student who needed this book for class. She waited over a month and struggled in class because of not having the textbook. She inquired and got no response. We finally had to buy from another source in a rush situation. Very expensive and inconvenient.
I have had several other good experiences with Amazon, but this one was terrible.
